Texas Board of Legal SpecializationJ. B. Morgan graduated from Baylor University in 1963 and earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Baylor Law School in 1964. He was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas.
After graduation from law school he worked as an assistant city attorney in Fort Worth before moving to Washington, D.C. where he was an attorney in the offices of Chief Counsel of the Internal Revenue Service. He served two years in Washington and two years in the District Counsel's office in Jacksonville, Florida. He returned to Texas to join Mr. Handy in 1969 and the two have been partners there since that time.
Mr. Morgan served nine years on the Hurst-Euless-Bedford school board and then became the attorney for the Birdville and White Settlement school boards in Tarrant County.
He has been president of HEB-Mid Cities Rotary Club and the Northeast YMCA board. He serves as a deacon and Sunday school director at the North Fort Worth Baptist Church.
Mr. Morgan's practice includes federal tax related matters, business organizations and transactions, school law, elder law, probate, and estate planning.
